Welcome to New Acropolis Cultural Association. The word "acro-polis"
comes from Ancient Greece and means "high city". New Acropolis
promotes the rediscovery of the noblest and most useful aspects of
all cultures and civilizations, and then promotes the practical application
of these principles to build something high within each human being.
Who am I? Where do I come from and where am I going?
These and many other essential and timeless questions have always
captivated the soul of the human being. By looking for answers to
these questions, we encounter timeless truths. The simplest questions
are the essential ones.

International
Women's Day
On March 8th, 2007, New Acropolis Boston participated in the
celebration of International Womens Day with the presentation
of an inspiring and informative talk on The Empowerment of Women
Through Education. In 2002, Mrs. Bush made the following remark
at the U.N. on the same occasion, Education is the single
most important long-term investment we can make in the future.
For a school of philosophy, this is a constant focus. As Plato
remarked long ago, Education is a lifelong process.
|
| Those who attended the talk were
amazed to learn how education is linked to reducing infant mortality
rate, population growth, decreasing the spread of infectious
diseases such as HIV and malaria and generally increasing health,
offering more opportunities to the youth and raising standards
of living. |
